Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): Cadets of 24th Nagaland (I) Coy NCC bagged five medals at the inter-group competition of Thal Sanik Camp held at Johrat from Aug. 18-27.
Cadets Stephen Yanthan and Shankar Thapa bagged gold and silver medal respectively in health and hygiene written test; Chubanuksung Jamir bagged gold medal in judging distance and field signal test; Lacit Konwar bagged silver medal in obstacle course competition; and Vikepesie Terhüja bagged silver medal in firing. Overall the boy and girl cadets of Kohima group have displayed remarkable performance during the competition, an update received here stated.
Kohima group NCC contingent comprised of 25 boys and 25 girls cadets participated in the competition. The group won runners-up in the competition. Seven groups of Northeast region NCC participated in a ten-day event.
It informed that Thal Sanik Camp physical and mental stamina test amongst cadets and is conducted every year by NER Directorate NCC as a competition.
A total of 25 NCC cadets 13 boys and 12 girls have been selected for further training and forming part of NER Directorate NCC team which would participate in inter directorate competition of Thal Sanik Camp which would be held at New Delhi in September this year.
