UIDIC meeting in Kohima reviews Aadhaar rollout, child enrolment, MBU camps and new Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Dimapur.

DIMAPUR — The state-level Unique Identification Implementation Committee (UIDIC) meeting for 2026 was held on April 17 in Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by Abhijit Sinha, Principal Secretary, Home Department. It was attended by Ngachan Zimik, DDG, and Col. Abhishek Koushik, Director, UIDAI Regional Office, Guwahati, along with senior officials from the Government of Nagaland.
Officials from the Commissioner Nagaland office (nodal department), Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Food & Civil Supplies, India Post, CSC, and representatives from Lead Bank, Nagaland, were also present.
During the meeting, the DDG, UIDAI RO Guwahati, along with the Director, presented key aspects of Aadhaar implementation.

The discussions covered Aadhaar features and benefits, the new Aadhaar App, and the Offline Verification Seeking Entity (OVSE) registration process. The committee also reviewed steps to accelerate Aadhaar enrolment for children aged 0–5 years through Birth Registration Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE) at district hospitals and health facilities using Birth Registration Numbers (BRN).
Focus was also laid on improving enrolment in low-saturation districts and addressing the gap between pending Mandatory Biometric Updates (MBU) and the number of students enrolled in the UDISE+ portal.
The meeting further emphasised conducting mission-mode MBU camps in schools, digitisation of birth registration, and conversion of non-digitised Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents issued by the state government.
Other key points included adoption of Aadhaar seeding and authentication for delivering state-sponsored schemes through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and sharing of deceased data with UIDAI.
Ngachan Zimik informed that a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra is being established in Dimapur and is likely to become operational shortly.
Abhijit Sinha complimented the UIDAI team for their support to the state and directed officials to expedite Aadhaar enrolment and conduct MBU camps to cover all remaining residents and children.
