DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 22: In continuation to the effort in fighting against the menace of HIV & AIDS in Nagaland, Nagaland Development Organization (NDO), Development Wing of NBCC, in partnership with Legislators Forum on AIDS (LFA) organized a state level in house Training of Trainers (ToT) for all the associations and Church leaders under NBCC from November 15 – 17 at AIDA Centre, Don Bosco School Campus, Dimapur.
NDO said the initiative of organising ToT program was to have better in depth knowledge on various socio-economic issues that is being faced by the church and also the infected and affected people by PLHAs. One of the findings in the process of the training was the need of right and consistent education/information to be imparted to all the section of people so that the general public is aware looking at the vulnerability of the society in which we are living today.The ToT was to seriously signal the start of complete involvement of the churches in addressing the issue for extending the psycho-social support to those who were in need. ToT was initiated to train different tribal key church leaders who can disseminate the information in their own respective association or churches up to the village level without facing any communication problems. The traing was also to develop the trainers for HIV & AIDS in all the constituent member associations and churches in Nagaland under NBCC.
During the programme, handouts and other materials were widely distributed to all the participants for their reference in the field of work.
The resource persons for two-day training were Dr. Molu Jamir from ART Centre Civil Hospital, Dimapur; Dr. Moa Imsong, senior counselor if Dimapur Ao Church; Dr. L. Vinito Chishi, LFA consultant and Hukatoli, LFA trainer. A total of 50 participants attended the training programme.
