Dimapur, Jan. 9 (EMN): The state level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has been constituted with Abhijit Sinha, chief electoral officer as chairman.Dimapur, Jan. 9 (EMN): The state level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has been constituted with Abhijit Sinha, chief electoral officer as chairman.Members of the committee are one observer appointed by the ECI; Limawati Ao, director Information & Public Relations; Shahu Patole, deputy director News, AIR, Kohima; and Xavier Rutsa, senior journalist and correspondent, Times of India as members. Khegukha Sema, joint chief electoral officer will be the member secretary.The state level MCMC shall perform two sets of functions:1. Deciding appeal from both District and Jt. CEO Committees on certification of advertisement as per the Commission order No.509/75/2004/JS-I Dated 15th April 2004.2. Examining all cases of paid news on appeal against the decision of district MCMC or cases that they may take up suomotu, in which case it shall direct the concerned ROs to issue notices to the candidates.
