State level MCMC constituted for bye election

Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): The state level media certification and monitoring committee (MCMC) for conduct of bye election to Lok Sabha has been constituted with Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Sinha as chairman; one observer appointed by the ECI, Director Information & Public Relations Limawati Ao, Deputy Director AIR Shahu Patole, senior journalist and correspondent of Times of India Xavier Rutsa as members; and Jt. Chief Electoral Officer Khegukha Sema as member secretary. Update from DIPR stated that the committee shall perform two sets of functions: Deciding appeal from both district and Add I. CEO committees on certification of advertisement as per the commission order No.509/75/2004/JS-i Dated 15th April 2004 and to examine all cases of paid news on appeal against the decision of district MCMC or cases that they may take up suomotu, in which case it shall direct the concerned returning officers to issue notices to the candidates.
