Horticulture department organises state-level exhibition-cum-competition of horticulture produce.

DIMAPUR — The prize distribution ceremony for the state-level exhibition-cum-competition of horticulture produce was held on Thursday at Hortiscape, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
The event began with a welcome address by Ayieno Hibo, Director of Horticulture, followed by a speech from special guest Akumla Chuba, Secretary, Horticulture department, a DIPR report stated.
In her address, Akumla highlighted the theme ‘Flowers and vegetables,’ noting that beauty and nourishment go hand in hand. She appreciated the hard work of the participants and encouraged everyone to bring beauty to their communities through horticulture.

Certificates and prizes were presented to the winners by Kelhousedeü Miachieo, SDHO Chiephobozou, and R Chumben Patton, AHO Kohima.
The programme was chaired by Neisetuonuo Debbie, Deputy Director, Horticulture department. This year, the Floral Galleria (Flower show-cum-competition) recorded 81 participants with 193 exhibits, while Kaleidoscope (Exhibition-cum-competition of fruits, vegetables, spices, and exotic and indigenous vegetables and spices) saw 133 participants showcasing 270 exhibits.
The judges for the competition were Megokhono Meyase, SMS (Horticulture), KVK Wokha; E Lireni Kikon, ACTO (Plant Protection), KVK Dimapur,; Dr. Shisarenla Aier, SMS (Horticulture), KVK Kohima (Tseminyu) and Dr. Aabon Yanthan, Scientist (Horticulture), ICAR Research Complex, Nagaland Centre.
