Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): Nagaland government employees, under the aegis of four different associations, have announced its first phase of agitation from November 20, to protest the government’s failure to implement the ROP recommendations of the Pay Anomalies Committee (PAC). The Joint Associations Forum (JAF)—representing Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association; All Nagaland District Ministerial Service Association; Trained Nurses Association of India, Nagaland Branch; and Prison Service Association Nagaland—issued a circular on Sunday informing that the first phase of agitation will be in the form of wearing black badges to work. “The agitation shall be intensified if the demand is not fulfilled in due course of time. Therefore, the JAF hereby direct all its constituent members to be prepared for the proposed agitation and to take up the matter very seriously. All constituent associations are further directed to constitute action committee to monitor and curb any untoward incident during the democratic form of agitation,” it stated. In a separate statement, the forum has sought support from HODs/DDOs/controlling officers. “It is only natural that every government servant, be it lower or upper class, desire for certain benefits during their service period in the form of promotion, higher perks or other beneficial schemes. “The current issue relates to pay level enhancement of specific categories of employees under the four associations which according to us deserves better perks and allowances commensurating their duties and responsibilities,” it stated. According to the forum, “Under the circumstances, it is foreseen that your authority over the said members may have to be compromised at times for the benefit of achieving our goal and we beg to make an apology for such instances if there be any”.
