- DIMAPUR — Nagaland
government has constituted a task force for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming,
Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) comprising all stakeholder departments
with the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) as the nodal
department.
- The decision to this effect was taken during a meeting held
to promote AVGC-XR sector in Nagaland with Nagaland Chief Secretary, Dr. J
Alam, at the Civil Secretariat in Kohima on Thursday.
- A DIPR report stated that the meeting brought together
administrative head of departments (AHoDs), head of departments (HoD) and
officers from various stakeholder departments to discuss strategies for the
development of the sector.
- The departments present at the meeting included Higher
Education, Finance, Planning and Transformation, Law and Justice, Information
Technology and Communications (IT&C), Education and SCERT, Industries and
Commerce, Tourism, Art and Culture, Entrepreneurship and Skill Development,
Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and Information and
Public Relations (IPR).
- It stated that the task force would be responsible for
formulating a policy framework to guide the development of AVGC-XR in the
state. It was also decided to form a state-level steering committee on AVGC-XR.
- During the meeting, each department shared their existing
contributions to the sector and outlined their future plans. It added that all
the departments have expressed enthusiasm and commitment to working together to
harness the potential of AVGC-XR as a game-changing industry for Nagaland.
