Kekhrievor Kevichusa, commissioner and secretary of Industries and Commerce, was the special guest of the programme. Padma Shree awardee 2023, Neihuno Sorhie, was also present in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Kevichusa spoke on the significance of the award function and stated that hard work and dedication had won them awards, which in turn brought good name for self, for the community, and for the state in particular. He also advised the awardees not to stop with the award but keep striving so that all could excel in life, stated a DIPR report.

We expect changes and progress in the textile sector of the state and for which the department and the awardees should be cooperative to bring the textile to the greater heights and will become competitive with the neighboring states," he said.
Also speaking on the occasion, Neihunuo congratulated the awardees and shared her journey toward the civilian highest award. She appreciated her mother for teaching, encouraging, and guiding her.
In a keynote address, A Temjen Jamir, director of Industries and Commerce, informed that the award was given by the Ministry of Textile in 67 categories based on criteria like design, techniques, materials used, traditions, etc.
