Dimapur, June 15 (EMN): In order to address the grievances of the uniformed personnel, the second “Know your men, know your DGP” interaction was held on June 14 with the state director general of police (DGP), Rupin Sharma, along with senior police officers at the PHQ conference hall.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP has assured all possible assistance and to intimate the state government for further action. Altogether 34 personnel from various units attended the interaction.
Points raised by the participants included maintenance of proper entry and rectification of particulars in the service sheet/ book, repair/renovation and maintenance of jawan barracks and proper security fencing, regular supply of water and provision for a good condition water tanker vehicle, enhancement of special allowances in the new ROP, repair/ renovation of government quarters in various units, to expedite the process of pension papers and issue of standard quality clothing items.
The jawans suggested that there should be an open recruitment for appointments of constable and regular central promotion test (CPT) in all units in order to boost their moral and motivation. The personnel have also requested to set up a rehab centre for alcoholic and drug addicts especially for police personnel. The jawans have also suggested for compulsory ‘Hindi’ subject during basic training.
The DGP has highlighted on various facilities that can be availed by opening of central police canteens in all the units, which would become functional soon.
The DGP further requested the jawans to perform their duties with devotion and sincerity.
