Dimapur, May 18 : The State Congress party is launching a protest dharna on May 20 at DC office premises of all 11 districts of the state, purportedly against the misuse, mismanagement and misinterpretation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
Media Cell, NPCC in a press note informed that the sit-in protest will be addressed by NPCC office bearers, PCC members of respective districts and DCC office bearers including volunteers, after which memorandum addressed to Nagaland Governor, in reference to Feb 2 representations of DCCs to respective DCs demanding effective implementation of MGNREGA in letter and in spirit, will be submitted to each DC. NPCC will also submit a memorandum to the Governor demanding for the effective implementation of MGNREGA. Citizens from all walks of life have been invited to be part of the dharna to demand from the government the assured benefits of MGNREGA to the citizens.
