Dimapur Sep. 25: The Dimapur Football League (DFL) season-two organised by the Naga United Football Club (NUFC) under the aegis of Dimapur District Football Association (DDFA) concluded on Wednesday, September 25 with State Boys Hostel emerging as champions. The league commenced on September 3.
State Boys Hostel walked home with the champion’s trophy and a cash prize of INR 1, 50,000 along with certificates and medals while the runners-up Tribal Hustlers received a cash prize of INR 70, 000 and certificates.
In the last league match played on Wednesday, A1 Powerplay thrashed Tribals United FC 7-2.
Speaking as the special invitee, Advisor to Power, government of Nagaland, Tovihoto Ayemi, said that DFL is one of a kind platform where young players, amateurs as well as professionals come and exhibit their talents.
Ayemi also said that, one should know oneself as a good sportsman and was happy to learn that some of the players will be selected to play at Santosh Trophy. He also acknowledged the DFL organisers that in a very short period, the league has gained momentum and popularity and also mentioned that the overall situation in Dimapur is very peaceful as a result of which it has attracted about 40,000 crowds even though it is held at night.

Best defender: Nighatu Assumi of State Boys Hostel
Young emerging player: Mughahuto Chishi of AFC and Kito Kiho of A1 Powerplay
Highest scorer: Imlongchaba of State Boys Hostel (18 goals)
Best mid-fielder: Toka Achumi of Tribal Hustlers
Player of the Tournament: Kimiyeto Assumi of Aphuyemi
