Dimapur, March 20 (EMN): Scheduled Tribe (ST) Morcha unit of the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has urged the central government to take up tribal welfare programmes such as tribal market, tribal museum, tribal library etc.
This was made known to the national convenor of Swachh Bharay Abhiyan and national vice president of ST Morcha and director of TRIFED, Yashwant Singh Darbar, during a closed door meeting held on March 19 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.
In a press release, state ST Morch president Vineizo Tsurho stated that house had proposed the necessity of bifurcating tribal department from the planning and coordination department so as to avail maximum benefit from the centre i.e Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
He stated that the meeting deliberated at length about various tribal welfare schemes to be implemented in the state.
He further informed that Yashwant Singh Darbar had assured to urge the chief minister and the deputy chief minister to take up the development of tribals of Nagaland on priority.
