Mokokchung, July 12 (EMN): The State Unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Party’s Organising Secretary for the state, Ananda Narayan Mishra and other state unit officials has been touring Mokokchung district.
The team visited the 27th Town Assembly Constituency today and an elaborate function was held at Aongza Ward, with the attendance of party members and supporters.
Welcoming the gathering, the Mandal President, Tiakumzuk expressed his joy that the dreams and aspiration of the electorates of the constituency were finally coming true in the form of BJP because, he opined that the 27th AC happens to be one of the most neglected constituency in the state as no traces of the various promises made by MLAs elected from the constituency can be found.
State Vice-President, Er Sengathung Jami, reiterated that BJP is not against any party or religion, rather is one party which has its primary focus on the holistic development of the nation starting from the grassroots. He urged the gathered members to wake up from conservative mentality and to try to adapt to the changing times. He also assured that the party will come to power in the state in the next election.
Dr. Temsuwati, the intending candidate from the constituency, in his address stated that the manifesto of BJP convinced him not only to take up primary membership in the party but also to contest, as he found out that the party was all about uplifting the economically poorer section of the society and ensuring equal development to all while also, empowering the people irrespective of caste or creed. Being from a poor farming background himself, he expressed that he was desirous of working for the poor and ensuring proper skill development and employment opportunities especially to the youth of the constituency.
If elected, he assured his supporters that he will empower them with all decision making and policy implementation powers for the uplift and good of the town constituency.
In his keynote address, Ananda Narayan Mishra while deliberating on the 10-point program of the party, stressed that BJP is intolerant towards indiscipline even within the party set-up and that the party also will not offer any quarters to corrupt practices or personnel. He assured the gathering that some arrests of government officials on corruption charges in Nagaland will be made soon and that would just be the beginning of the Party’s initiative to rid Nagaland of corruptions. He blamed the Congress Party of spreading anti-BJP propaganda in the state and reiterated that BJP was not against any religion or minority group. He also expressed his confidence that the party will come to power in that state by all means.
