EMN Dimapur, October 2 Nagaland State BJP party kicked-off its official bye-election campaign at Tuophema village Dahou (MP Theatre), Kohima on September 30 with State party president Dr. M. Chuba Ao along with the BJP candidate Visasolie Lhoungu and host of party functionaries. While addressing the gathering of 500 people present, the president in his speech recalled that Tuophema village and Ungma village shared a traditional relationship of brotherhood for many years past. Pointing at the mobile tower next to the Dahou, he said during the last BJP rule, the party introduced the cellular service in the State which was inaugurated by the then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee during his visit to the State in October 2003 which was a sign of its commitment to bring about development in our region. He assured the electorate that the new BJP government at the Centre would also bring about more development to our State under the dynamic leadership of the present Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He disagreed that the bye-election to 11 Northern Angami-II Assembly Constituency is a friendly contest as the NPF party which already have 37 MLAs and 2 MPs in the DAN government, whereas the BJP has only one MLA and as such they should have given the opportunity to the BJP party if at all they want to display the true spirit of coalition as alliance partners. He said, to bring about progress, development of the State, there is need for better State-Centre relationship, and BJP Nagaland is the only party that can solve the economic stagnancy. Considering that the BJP motto is “development", the electorates should cast their valuable vote to Shri. Visasolie Lhoungu in order to strengthen the relationship of the State Govt (DAN) with the Central Govt. (NDA). Citing the example of the 2003 general Election where 7 BJP MLA's came out successfully in various parts of the State, but not a single BJP MLA was elected from the Angami region, he appealed the public of the constituency to break that record by casting their vote in favour of the BJP candidate Visasolie Lhoungu in the forth-coming bye election. Dr.Chuba added, by electing the BJP candidate in 11 Northern Angami-II A/C, it will only strengthen the foothold of the present MP in the Centre and create better prospect for former Chief Minister and present MP Neiphiu Rio in the NDA government. R. Sopu Vice President BJP Nagaland Unit said that his withdrawal from seeking the party ticket was for the greater interest of the constituency and for the public to unite in firm support and work for the victory of the BJP party for furthering the development process in the constituency. Visasolie Lhoungu, BJP official candidate, in his speech appealed to the gathering and requested the public to help him to help them by casting their votes in his favour and give him the chance to work for the people under the motto of “Development from Grassroots” and to bring changes in the constituency. The meeting was chaired by the standby candidate Neisakholie Rupreo and short speeches by Rukhetuo Kiewhou Election Agent, R. Sopu, senior BJP leader and Vice President State BJP Nagaland, Vithezielie BJP party worker, and Campaign Director Sevotso Seyie.
