Dimapur, March 11 (EMN): State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to begin all preparation works for the ensuing State general elections scheduled in 2018.
This was informed during the 2nd executive meeting of the BJP Peren unit held at its office in Jalukie on March 11 with newly inducted district in-charge and BJP general secretary (party affairs) and Yuva Morcha in charge Mathew K Janger.
Speaking on the occasion as guest of honour, Matthew K Janger exhorted the party workers to work in good spirits to uplift the interest of party as well as for the benefit of the people in the region. He lamented observing the current development in the district particularly in road sector which is a prime agenda for all amenities. He appealed to all the office bearers to spread awareness on the various schemes given by the central government to benefit the people in the region. The district BJP president Huzantadbo Meriam exhorted the office officials to work hard by citing the current political situation in the country where the party is winning over people in most parts of the country.
He appealed to all that preparations for the general election should begin in full swing as there are a lot of interested candidates vying for BJP ticket in Peren district. He said all morchas in the district should start working on their assignment at the earliest.
In the second session, some party workers raised the question of continuing alliance with the DAN government in Nagaland. In response, the district in-charge made it clear that it would depend on the treatment from the present NPF led-DAN government.
The party also congratulated to all central leaders as well as State party workers on the landslide victory in most of the states in second phase elections under the abled leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and national BJP president Amit Shah.
The programme was chaired by district vice president Chiwang Pamei, while the invocation prayer was said by Ndabe. All the mandals, local bodies presented reports. The benediction was pronounced by Ngauputlak.
