Dimapur, Aug 2 (EMN): On the eve of the 3rd anniversary of the signing of the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and the NSCN (IM) on August 3 2015, the Nagaland State BJP President, Temjen Imna Along declared the ‘party’s unflinching support to the talks held between the Government of India and the various Naga political groups.
A press release issued by the Media Cell, BJP Nagaland, quoted its state chief as saying, “I would like to congratulate as well as reiterate my party’s unflinching support to the talks held between the Government of India and the Various Naga political groups.
The people of Nagaland and other Naga inhabited areas are eagerly waiting for a final and peaceful settlement of the decades-old Naga issue” .
The Nagaland BJP recalled former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee accepted the uniqueness of Naga history and situation ‘which is one of the underlined principles of the agreement.
In this regard, the release stated that the decisiveness of the current BJP government at the centre in signing of the peace accord is a landmark decision and is welcomed by the Naga people.
Therefore, the party expressed appreciation to all the various Naga political groups for coming together in the interest of “our yearning by recognizing each other’s contribution towards the common cause of the Nagas”.
Meanwhile, the BJP Nagaland, while sharing wholehearted concern with the people undergoing losses and hardships due to unceasing rains and natural calamities, appealed all to remain calm and extend cooperation to the various government agencies and NGOs who are undertaking various relief efforts throughout the state.
It further prayed the almighty ‘to protect and guide’ during these troubled times.
