
Dr. Sukhato A Sema along with bank officials and other

- DIMAPUR — Member
of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (MLA), Dr. Sukhato A Sema, inaugurated the
State Bank of India (SBI) branch office in Pughoboto town on Friday.
- The event was attended by Lokho Peter, regional manager of
SBI and regional business officer, Mokokchung, along with ADC of Pughgoboto,
Tiameren Chang, various government officials and representatives from civil
society organisations.
- Speaking at the inaugural programme, Dr. Sukhato expressed
his gratitude to SBI’s head office in Guwahati for their support in making the
branch a reality. He congratulated the people of Pughoboto and assured them
that the new banking facility would greatly benefit the local economy,
businesses and individuals by providing improved financial services.
- Also speaking at the event, Lokho Peter congratulated the
people of Pughoboto and acknowledged the persistent demand for an SBI branch in
the area. He credited the successful establishment of the branch to the
intervention and efforts of MLA Dr. Sukhato.
- He also encouraged customers, who have accounts in Tseminyu
and Kohima branches, to transfer them to the newly opened Pughoboto branch for
better accessibility. Additionally, he provided insights into various loan
schemes and banking services available at the branch.
- The president of Sumi Aphuyemi Kukami Hoho, Qhutovi Tenna,
expressed strong support for the newly established branch, emphasising its
significance as a long-awaited development for the people of Pughoboto. He
termed the opening of the branch as a "milestone" for the region,
bringing essential banking services closer to the residents.
- It mentioned that the establishment of SBI’s Pughoboto
branch was expected to boost economic activities in the region by providing
easier access to banking, loans and financial services for the residents.
