Dimapur, August 29: The 7th Summer Cup Cricket Tournament organised by Balijan Youth Club concluded after two months at Balijan in Karbi Anglong (Assam) on Sunday.
During the closing ceremony, PWD, KAAC, Diphu, Longki Timung graced the occasion as chief guest. While addressing the players and the gathering he congratulated the organizing committee for organising sport activities that promotes friendship and encouraged the club to bring good relation with the neighbouring states. Earlier during the final match, the toss was won by Khermahal XI and elected to ball first. While taking the chance to touch the bat first, Stalwart notched 91 runs in the 10-10 over’s match after losing 6 wickets. In reply his rival team Khermahal XI could not muster over the target and losses all its wickets on 59 runs in 9.3 over’s. Jalal of Stalwart was awarded the Man of the Match and Rakesh of Stalwart was adjudged as the Man of the Series. While Stalwart walked away with a cash amount of Rs 18000 and Khermahal XI receive the 10000 as runners-up award.
