[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he past events had not been pleasant and neither is the present. The wars that were waged against us did not only create instability in our land but it also created division among us. No wars had ever been won without bloodshed and the same is true with our political situation. The stained histories which had further been corrupted by our likes is now becoming a stumbling block to us. The blunders of the past can also be used as weapons against us and we only seem to be creating more problems rather than finding a solution to our problem.
The crux of our problem is unfaithfulness. We did not wander in the desert as the Israelites did but we wandered far away from God as they did. Had we been faithful from the beginning, the circumstances of the present would have been different. The truth regarding our morality is that we can never be reconciled to each other unless we are truly reconciled to God. A person can only be faithful to a lover only when the love of the Father is in him or her. If we were to choose between our nation and God I wonder what our choice would be? The sad reality is that though we claimed to be engaged to God, we seem to be flirting with the world. Every writer will continue writing as long as he or she lives. And every fighter will continue fighting as long as the battle continues. Too much have been said and written on the naga political context but the prevailing situation indicates that many are yet immature. We seem to have forsaken our first love and as a result of this the Lord’s anger had been upon us. In reference to this the scripture states “ Yet I hold this against you; You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent I will come to you and remove your lamp stand from its place (Revelation 2:4-5).
We seem to have forgotten the allegiance we made to Christ when we became a nation. Our leaders has faced enough problems of its own and it will be unwise if we become a hindrance to our own cause. Satan had not been sleeping ever since he was cursed and he will only continue to do evil as long as he can. The danger which confronts us is that if we continue living the life of sin, we will ultimately end up in the place of eternal torment. The place of torture referred to here is just below the ground and the sinner who repents not will go down to experience the realities of the place called hell.
The past histories cannot be re-written but our acts of the present can impact the future. The memories of the present will become the memories for the future. It is to our knowledge that the memories of the past are now hindering us and these waves of turmoil will only normalize when we start acting like normal beings. The notion is this : If we sow the seeds of bitterness, we shall reap the harvest of death, destruction and turmoil but if we sow the seeds of peace, we shall reap the blessings of righteousness, holiness and prosperity. Ignore not these warnings, for these are not just prophetic warnings but these are the words of the last days. We destroy ourselves when we drift far away from God and we lose our blessings when our hearts are controlled by the vices of sin. Do not make things worse by your acts of immaturity but wake up from your slumber because our salvation is now nearer than when we first believed ( Romans 13:11 ). Do not carry your gun to kill each other but carry your cross to suffer for Christ. The pages of these last days will only be filled with the filth of sin and we urge you not to part take in the sins of the sinners. The God who created us is always here and he is willing to unite us for His glory. In conclusion I challenge us with this question: Do we want God to fight for us or are we determined to fight the war on our own? The choices are up to us. The Church of Christ prays for the best of our nation. Be the best and give your best to God. The Lord loves you.
