STA conference concludes

Dimapur, May 5 (EMN): The 22nd conference of the Sumi Theological Association (STA) under SBAK-Aizuto held on the theme ‘In His footsteps’ at Aghulito Baptist Church concluded on May 5. On the third day, Rev. Mulato Chishi, executive secretary of SBAK-Aizuto, exhorted the servants of God to be relevant and creative in ministry. He stressed on the need of adequate preparation and to excel in studies. Rev. Tokhezhe Kiba, pastoral care secretary of SBAK-Aizuto, encouraged the congregation from the word of God stressing on the need to follow the footsteps of Jesus by taking up the cross. He explained that “In his footsteps” indicates suffering and sacrifice and to get close to Him by avoiding pride, being obedient and esteeming others better than oneself. The conference concluded with an evening service where an exhortation praise and worship was led by ATC praise team. Students who achieved the academic excellence in different colleges were acknowledged by the association. The association also selected new office bearers for the next session led by Kheshiho Chishi as president, Rev. Mulato as vice president, Akai Yeptho as general secretary, Ilika Zhimo as assistant general secretary, Amento as finance secretary, Khekaho Chophy as assistant finance secretary, Aketo Yeptho as information secretary, Khekato Chophy as assistant information secretary, Apeto as Dimapur representative. The newly selected office bearers were dedicated with prayer by Rev. Puheto Shikhu, pastor of Yehemi Baptist Church.
