Dimapur, Mar. 6 (EMN): With an aim to explain whether an ‘employability skills development intervention programme enhances the employability skills of under graduate students,’ the North East Institute of Social Science and Research (NEISSR) conducted a three- day workshop on “Enhancing employability skills among the student youth” at St. Xavier College Jalukie from Feb. 8 to 10. During the workshop, participants were enlightened with eight different employability skill - self branding skill, career goal setting and execution skill, time management skill, communication skill, decision making skill, adaptability and collaboration skill, ability to influence skill and digital communication technology skill.
Principal of St. Xavier College, Dr. Fr. Francis welcomed the facilitators from NEISSR and encouraged the students to cooperate and learn maximum from the programme.
The first day session focused on self branding skill, career goal setting and execution skill, and time management skill. Participants were guided with a workbook to exercise their learning’s and motivate their participation level.
The second day topics included adaptability and collaboration skill, ability to influence skill and decision making while on the third day dwelt on communication and digital communication technology skills.
The participants shared that skills learned during the workshop has enhance their employability skills and has helped them to build up their career and change their attitude towards life.
The three days workshop programme came to a close with speeches from participants and facilitator.
Other highlights of the programme included pledge to apply the learning’s in everyday life so as to enhance their knowledge and skills and become competent and employable.
