DIMAPUR — St. Xavier Higher Secondary School in Shamator organised an orientation and motivational talk for students of classes 10, 11, and 12 on Saturday.
The resource person, Rev. Fr. Thomas Toretkiu, outlined key elements for success in life and examinations, highlighting hard work, consistency, and a strong grasp of both concepts and content while studying.
According to an update, he also advocated the ‘3Rs’ method—read, write, and recite—as an effective study strategy. Stressing self-reliance, Fr. Toretkiu encouraged students to develop the habit of making their own notes and to prioritise textbooks over teacher-dictated notes, stating that personal note-making builds confidence and ensures a better understanding.
Rev. Fr. Philip Magh of Loyola Higher Secondary School, Kiphire, and former principal of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School in Dimapur and Queen Mary Higher Secondary School in Mokokchung shared his experience with the students.
