Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): Newly built St. Paul Church in Razaphe was blessed by Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, and was inaugurated by Ketsokhrie Thomas, Head GB of Razaphe and pioneer Catechist of the place, on April 16. Eight priests concelebrated with Bishop.
During the occasion, three children received the sacrament of the first Holy Communion and six received the sacrament of Confirmation. Rev. Fr. Sajan accorded the words of welcome to Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, other invited guests, government officials, village leaders, dignitaries, priests and Sisters from different parishes, catechists of different churches and other participants.
Bishop, while speaking on the occasion, thanked God for the blessings bestowed upon the community. He said the real church- the living church that worships God in spirit and in truth- are the believers. He said each one of us is the living temple of God adding each of us must build this temple of our life every day for God to dwell within us. Bishop also said our love for Jesus is proven by keeping His Word. The ultimate way to keep God’s word according to the Bishop is by focusing our mind on His word to the point of obedience like Jesus.
In a short felicitation programme, catechism children of Razephe, brothers from Good Shepherd Seminary, women from non Catholic denominations, youth from Tenyphe presented special songs.
Atso Anthony presented brief history of the Catholic church from since its inception. Rev. Fr. Dominic and Miss Julie anchored the programme. Ketsokhrie Thomas proposed vote of thanks.
