DIMAPUR — The Department of Chemistry, St. Joseph University (SJU),
Chümoukedima, in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC),
organised a one-day motivational session titled ‘My story: Motivational session
by successful innovators’ at the university on November 27.
In a press release, PRO of SJU informed that the event was
held with an aim to inspire and guide aspiring entrepreneurs and students on
the paths to success in business.
The keynote speaker for the session, Imtisunup Longchar,
director of Ilandlo Services Private Limited, Dimapur, shared his wealth of
knowledge on entrepreneurship and innovation.
With years of experience in business development, Longchar
provided valuable insights on several crucial topics, including investment
decisions, financial performance monitoring, and entrepreneurial strategic
planning.
He highlighted on the key elements of successful
entrepreneurship, such as social entrepreneurship, business development, and
the challenges faced by new entrepreneurs. He further emphasised the importance
of effective time and money management, setting long-term goals, and developing
sound business plans.
The director also shared personal anecdotes about his own
entrepreneurial journey, offering practical advice on how to navigate the
complexities of business decisions and ensuring sustainable growth.
The event attracted a total of 60 registered participants,
with 55 students from St. Joseph University actively engaging in the session.
The majority of attendees were management students, who took the opportunity to
interact with Longchar, asking questions and discussing real-world challenges
faced by entrepreneurs today.
The programme was organized by Dr. K Raja, associate
professor, Chemistry department, who highlighted the importance of such
motivational sessions for students, encouraging them to think creatively and
pursue innovation in their academic and professional lives.
“The programme reflects St. Joseph University's commitment
to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among its students,
preparing them for success in a rapidly changing business world,” the release
stated.
