DIMAPUR — The Placement Cell of St. Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima, in collaboration with The Indian Navy, organised a career guidance programme titled ‘A career choice in the Indian Navy’ at the university auditorium on Tuesday.

In a press release, the university stated that the event aimed to introduce students to the opportunities, responsibilities, and life in the Indian Navy.

The highlight of the event was the guest session by Lt. Cdr. Bezai Moses, a submarine specialist from the Indian Navy. Through engaging videos and presentations, Moses provided a vivid introduction to the Navy’s operations, structure, and its vital role in safeguarding the nation’s maritime borders.

He elaborated on the Navy’s contribution beyond defence — its involvement in maritime security, and other missions, and international cooperation.

The Navy officer also shared his personal journey, describing how he prepared and qualified to join the Navy. He detailed the eligibility criteria, recruitment exams, and selection procedures for both officer and agniveer entries for men and women.
