St. Joseph University in Chümoukedima held its 5th convocation, awarding degrees and medals to graduating students.

DIMAPUR — St. Joseph University, Chümoukedima, hosted its 5th convocation ceremony on November 14 at the university campus with Dr. Girish Patil S, director of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, as the special guest.
According to an update, the occasion marked the formal graduation of UG, PG and PhD awardees from over 20 disciplines, where 35 graduates received gold medals, 35 silver medals and 16 were awarded PhD degrees.
The ceremony was attended by Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, bishop of Kohima Diocese and pro-chancellor, who delivered the keynote address, reminding the graduates that the event marked only the beginning and encouraging them to embrace the future with courage and to learn from every experience.
The convocation address was delivered by the chief guest, Dr Girish, who commended the achievements of the university in recent years. He urged the students to never stop competing. He concluded by stating that “one should always have concern for the society, as it serves as the fuel to make you a better individual.”
The chancellor formally awarded the degrees, followed by the administration of the pledge, and concluded with a message for continued academic and ethical excellence.
