Dimapur, Dec. 1 (EMN): With the objective to enhance English speaking skills of the students, English club of DMI St. Joseph Global School organised various literary activities for the students from Classes I-IX on November 30.
As part of the monthly club activity, English department of the school conducted activities such as oration, quiz, essay writing, and dramas etc. An update from the school stated that students presented play from Shakespeare, origin of English language and literature stressing upon the importance of English language.
Students also had pronunciation practice in English learning the peculiar pronunciations and spellings. The activity also focused on how to improve the spelling, vocabulary and speaking skills.
The school principal T Backiyaraj spoke on the importance of English language in the day-to-day life of everyone by emphasising how English language connects people of different regions and culture. He also exhorted the students to cultivate passion for English language and to speak it effortlessly and powerfully.
The programme was conducted class-wise from Class I-IX in their respective classes.
