St. John College celebrates ‘Youth Day’

(EMN): St. John college Dimapur celebrated ‘Youth Day’ on August 17 at the college campus. The event was organised by the different departments of the college to encourage the students to exhibit their talents. The event started with a debate competition organised by the Political Science department, followed by drama performances from the Zoology department and Drama Club. The event proceeded with quiz competition initiated by the History department and extempore speech from the Economics department. Another quiz competition was collectively conducted by department of Physics and Mathematics based on the topic ‘General awareness on Science.’ Department of Education as well as the Red Ribbon Club also initiated a creativity competition and a drawing competition on the theme of ‘AIDS,’ while department of Philosophy and department of Sociology conducted an essay competition. There was also an art exhibition organised by the Chemistry department in the college lobby, which showcased the talents of the Science students. English department held a poster-making competition on the theme ‘Youth Life’. Apart from the various competitions, the students also witnessed dance performances from the Dance Club and Botany department as well as songs from the Music Club.
