DIMAPUR — A Sunday service was conducted by Rev. Fr. C Joseph, Counsellor of St. Joseph’s College (SJC), Jakhama, for Hindi speaking community of Jotsoma, Kohima district.
In a press release, the SJC reported that 40 Adivasi Christians gathered at St. Andrew School in Jotsoma on Sunday at 9 am for worship.
The proverbial nature of the parable of the ‘Good Samaritan’ was taken and quoted as a model for those who would care to extend a helping hand to others in need.
Fr. C. Joseph explained in his homily that Jesus shifts the focus of the lawyer's question “Who is my neighbour?” to “How can I be a neighbour to those in need?”
Fr. Joseph further reflected that Jesus embodies the Good Samaritan, healing spiritual wounds and binding emotional ones, serving as a model for Christian charity.
The Sunday service included confession, scripture readings, and Holy Communion, with the community actively participating through hymns and prayers.
