The Sainik School Punglwa annual inter-house basketball championship 2016-17 for junior category concluded on April 22 last with Japfu House finishing at the top. The final match was played between Japfu and Patkai Houses.
Tizu House finished third in the championship. Best player award in junior category was awarded to Cadets Himalaya Mirda of Tizu House. Lt Col Jitendra Dogra, Officiating Principal, graced the occasion as the chief guest and gave away the certificates and medals. The championship began on April 16 last and was played under league-cum-knock-out system. After the event, names of cadets selected to represent the school for East Zone Sports Championship were announced.
