
Kohima, March 13 (EMN): Samagra Shiksha Nagaland (SSN) conducted a one-day block-level training for the members of school management committee (SMC) and school management and development committee (SMDC) under Educational Block Resource Centre (EBRC), L Khel Kohima, at D Khel badminton stadium in Kohima village on March 9.
Speaking at the programme, Avelu Ruho, joint secretary of School Education department and deputy project director of Nagaland Education Project (NEP) - The Lighthouse, highlighted the background of the project. She emphasised on community participation and collective responsibility of teachers and community leaders such as SMC and SMDC to improve the education system and impart quality education to the students.
Ruho also urged the members for collective efforts to develop quality education in their respective schools and villages.
Kelhikha Kenye, deputy mission director of State Mission Authority, highlighted various schemes and initiatives of Samagra Shiksha. On Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE), Kenye called for maintaining accurate school data.
Stating that every school programme and planning process is now being done through UDICE, he called upon the SMC and SMDC members to have correct data in order to avail various facilities for the students and also ensure effective management of schools.
Other resource persons have also highlighted the background of NIPUN-Bharat mission, vocational education, inclusive education, out of school children, school development plan, Covid SoPs, RTE and National Education Policy 2020.
In a related programme, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland organised a one-day block-level training for SMC/ SMDC members was conducted at Mon town council hall on March 10.
