Dimapur, Nov. 7: The Peren unit of the Nagaland SSA Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) has reminded the state’s government and authority to fulfill an ‘agreement’ that was said to have been signed between the association and the state’s School Education department on June 12 2018 to release their salary at the earliest.
The association said in a statement that the SSA teachers were yet to get their salary since June 2018 in spite of attending to their duties diligently.
Stating their salary to be the only source and means for their children’s education and livelihood, the Peren unit said that the state government should have come up with a permanent solution to the issue, which crops up every year, as delay in payment of salary has adversely ‘affected the delivery of quality education in the state.’
The association has requested the authorities to take necessary steps and measures for timely release of salary as mentioned in the agreement signed in June this year.
