Mokokchung, March 20 (EMN): Squadron, one of Nagaland’s oldest bands from Mokokchung, released its book 'Squardon: For the love of Life and Music' at Urban Hub café in Mokokchung on Saturday.

The book was released by Abu Metha, Advisor to the chief minister, of Nagaland.

In the launching programme, TK Lanu Aier, a member of the band, acknowledged TaFMA and Heritage Publishing house for making the book a reality.

Metha, after the launch of the book, said that 30 years was a long time in the field of music and arts especially when the story is coming from Mokokchung. He also congratulated the band and said that the story of Squardon must be embedded with ‘so many dynamics of triumphs and trails’.

He thanked the band for the ‘joy, the music and the love’ and for inspiring generations of people.

He further added that TaFMA was putting a lot of effort in promoting art and music and he encouraged the Naga youths to be the new ambassadors for Nagaland and share the Naga story beyond the borders.

He also announced that the TaFMA Guitar festival 2021 will be held in Mokokchung and Squardon was also invited as a showcase band for the Asia Music Summit, which be held in Nagaland.

Theja Meru, Advisor, TaFMA who was also present at the launch, applauded the band for the journey so far and for keeping the passion for the love of music alive.

“The book released today will signal a new chapter, a new facade of TaFMA, that of a story teller through its TaFMA publications, and I am so happy and proud that we are starting with the story of the Squardon", he said.

The evening was followed by live music from the Squardon band.
