- DIMAPUR — St.
Peter’s Parish Kiphire (SPPK) held a pilgrimage and outreach programme from
January 3 to the 5th. The pilgrimage and outreach programme was organised by
Rev. Fr. Philip Magh, parish priest of St. Peter’s Kiphire, and Rev. Fr. Thomas
Toretkiu.
- An update from the parish stated that catechists from nine
villages along with the faithful attended the programme. It stated that the
participants visited war cemetery and got an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices
made by the pioneers. The participants also visited St. Peter parish in
Tesophenyu.
- On the 2nd day, catechists visited churches of St. Francis
Xavier Catholic Church in Chunlikha; St. Mary Church in Kendinu; Don Bosco
School in Lakhuti; St. Paul’s Church in Wokha town; and Doyang Hydro Electric
reservoir and power station.
- It stated that the outreach programme created a unique
opportunity for catechists to see new places and experienced the different ways
of life and cultural immersion.
- The participants were from St. Peter Church, Kiphire; St.
Dominic Savio Church, Kiphire village; St. Luke Church, Longmatra; St. Alphonsa
Church, Ngoromi; Christ King Church, Hurong; St. Stephen Church, Singrep; St.
John Church, Kiusam; St. Mary Church, Anatongre; and St. Thomas Church,
Phelungre.
