On this auspicious day, let us retrospect the Great deeds and Contribution of our Great leaders and our fallen heroes for their selfless sacrifices, the nation is forever indebted to them.
- Dear countrymen,
- First of all I give Thanks to the Almighty God for enabling
us to celebrate this 69th Republic day of our Nation. On this auspicious day,
let us retrospect the Great deeds and Contribution of our Great leaders and our
fallen heroes for their selfless sacrifices, the nation is forever indebted to
them.
- The Naga National Council (NNC) was a political Organisation
which was formed on 20th June 1946 under the ‘Naga Club’ in consolidation with
the Naga People. For ages Naga’s were sovereign people, every region is an
Autonomous Region and every village is Independent by itself, contained and
completely independent of any foreign power. Therefore, Naga’s were never
Indians and their Territories were never a part of India. As such any Political
Negotiations or Agreement to Surrender our Birth right to India is a violation
of our covenant with God.
- When the Simon commission a statutory body, visited Kohima
on 10.01.1929 to find out whether Naga’s would like to join the Indian Union
under the New reformed Scheme of India. The then ‘Naga Club’ rejected the
Proposal and Submitted a Memorandum to the Commission in which they made their
Legitimate stand very Clear that Nagas were never subjugated by any foreign
power, Therefore, when the British left India, Nagas should be left alone to
determine her own Future.
- Meanwhile, the Naga Voluntary Plebiscite of 1951 was
conducted by the Naga National Council (NNC) under the Leadership of Dr. A.Z.
Phizo, where 99.9% of the Naga people voted in favour of Sovereignty. It was
when the Naga people exercised their right to self determination, boldly
asserting their identity and aspiration for sovereignty.
- Therefore, NNC/FGN
shall never Accept any Accord or Agreement with Indian Government or any
Country similar to ‘SHILLONG ACCORD’ it shall relentlessly commit to our
Original Position of Sovereignty. It is the Legitimate right of the Nagas to
choose their own Future and Nagas will Choose to live as free Sovereign people
Under God.
