DIMAPUR — The Niuland district administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) organised a special awareness programme under Sankalp at Vihokhu village council hall on September 10.
According to a DIPR report, the event focused on critical themes of health and nutrition in women and adolescent girls, aiming to empower and sensitise the community.
Kelengunuo Solo, EAC, delivered an insightful introduction to Mission Shakti, elucidating the mission's goals and relevance in promoting women's empowerment and community development.

A pivotal session on ‘Health and nutrition in women and adolescent girls’was presented by Mhabeni Kithan, Community Health Officer, HWC Old Showuba. The session highlighted vital aspects of nutrition and health, addressing specific needs and challenges faced by women and adolescent girls, offering practical advice for improvement.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from the local community, reflecting the importance of such awareness initiatives. The programme fostered dialogue and engagement on key health and nutrition issues, the report stated.
The 10-day special awareness programme is part of concerted efforts under Sankalp to enhance awareness and empowerment focusing on health, nutrition, and community engagement for women and adolescent girls in Niuland district.
Earlier, the programme commenced with an invocation prayer by Kanili, STL president, while Ilolika, data entry operator chaired the programme.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by V Vily Chophy, district mission coordinator.
