Kohima: Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Sharingain Longkumer, on Tuesday, adjourned sine die the first session of the 14th NLA.
He thanked the leader of the house and legislators for their active participation, cooperation, orderly conduct and meaningful contribution in the proceedings of the house.
Soon after the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001 (Repeal Bill, 2023), was passed by the chief minister, Longkumer said they had transacted all the business for the first session of the 14th NLA.
Affirming that they had also passed the first budget of the 14th NLA, he asked all the members of the assembly to be more prudent to ensure that the fund is spend judiciously for the purpose it has been voted for in the house.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Longkumer, who has been elected as the Speaker for the second consecutive time, also appealed to all the elected members to be more dedicated in living up to the aspirations and expectations of the people.
He expressed hope that the members would accomplish the noble tasks given to them by the people so that they don't forfeit their trust.
The speaker urged them for their active participation and contribution towards good governance and public services as they have all sworn commitment to do so.
He wished the members the best in the dispensation of their official duty and responsibilities assigned while seeking the guidance of Almighty in the service of the people.
Longkumer acknowledged the contribution of all the concerned for the smooth conduct of the Assembly session. Further, he adjourned the session as there were no other businesses before the house.
