Soyim students celebrate jubilee

Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): Mokokchung unit of the Soyim Student’s Union (SSU) celebrated its golden jubilee on December 21 with Tongpang Ozukum, minister of PWD, as the special guest. Speaking on the theme ‘Temaleni,’ speaker and associate professor of Nagaland University, Dr. Temjensosang Imsong, dwelled on the qualitative growth and progress of individual and society in reference to Auguste Comte’s theory of the law of three stages. Insisting on education as an important component for the growth of society,he stated that without education there could be no qualitative growth. Tongpang Ozukum, in his speech, encouraged the students to work hard and stand together for positive growth. Noting the prevalence of many groups and organisations, he was of the view that most of those groups exist for selfish interests and do not help in positive growth of the society. NSF general secretary and former president of Soyim Students’ Union, Imtiyapang, in his speech, had emphasised on self sustenance to curb unemployment problem in the state. Short speeches were also delivered by president of Ungma Union Mokokchung and Soyim Student’s Union, Ungma. Around 400 students attended the golden jubilee celebration.
