Khulazu Basa, Jan. 8 (EMN): Defending champion Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) won the 4th Thevonü memorial trophy held at Khulazu Basa village on Tue. Jan. 8.
The event was organised by Japfüphiki Chokri Dzevi Krotho and hosted by CAPO on the theme ' friendship and progress.' It may be mentioned that Thevonü Cup was played between the Southern Angami and the Chakhesang's Chokri as a sign of 'brotherhood and friendship among them.'
The football match was played between SASA's team A and Chokri Area Games and sports Association's (CAGSA) team A. It was Kelesal Pucho from team SASA, who scored the solitary goal at the 32nd minute, leading the team to claim the victory.
Meanwhile, the volleyball match in women category was played between SASA and CAGSA. Team SASA won the match after a tough competition. It may be mentioned that both the football and volleyball matches were bagged by Southern Angami.
