Dimapur, May 22 (EMN): In its first ever attempt, South Naga Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) held an orientation for south Nagas students who had passed in Class X and XII 2018 under NBSE at Aida Hall on May 22 on the topic “Choices of subjects leading to career options.”
Joe Ngamkhuchung, SNUNS president, delivered a spirited introduction after which Rev. Fr. Justine from St. Joseph’s University made a detailed presentation on the subject “Choices of subjects leading to career options.” He began with the principles of goal setting and dream building and followed up with presentation of the good courses to do after 12th Arts.
During the interactive session, students raised many questions.
In the afternoon session, Heni Ahrai, Oath Commissioner, Senapati GoM, shared his experiences to encourage the students.
At the felicitation session, Dr. R Francis, principal of St. Stephen’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, exhorted the students and gave away SNUNS merit certificates with cash incentives for the students with 80 % and above in individual subjects.
SNUNS president Joe Ngamkhuchung informed that eight students from Class X secured 80% and above in 28 subjects together, while three students from Class XII secured 80 % to 90% and above in 10 subjects together.
On the occasion, Ms Esther Chakhre (Mao) from Mezhur Higher Secondary School, Kohima, was felicitated for securing 6th position in the HSSLC Arts stream.
The programme was chaired by Liangsi Newmei. Dr. R Francis said the invocation prayer, while Chakhre, father of Ms Esther Chakhre said the concluding prayer.
