Dimapur, Sep. 25 (EMN): The South Naga Elders Forum (SNEF) has demanded that 20 MLA seats from the Meeteis should be given to hill tribal districts to equalise the status to govern the state of Manipur.
The SNEF stated that majority of the Meeteis are enjoying all the facilities and privileges of the state with their own accord suppressing the minority of the hill tribal people.
While demanding equal status from the government, the forum warned that “failing to do so the hill tribal people would start another course of action.”
The forum further appealed the government of Manipur ‘to exhibit the exact position of the government servants to the public for both the Meeteis / tribal people in all the departments.’
