Patton expresses grief, orders arrest of killers

Home Minister Y Patton has expressed deep grief over the killing of a personnel of Special Operation Team, UBC Kepibo Zeliang, who was shot dead at Dhobinullah here today. The SOT personnel was allegedly shot dead while on duty by one of the accused involved in killing of a hotel manager at Purana Bazar on June 12.
The Home Minister ordered that all the accused involved in the killing be booked and awarded exemplary and befitting punishment under the appropriate sections of law.Patton said UBC Kepibo was a brave and capable personnel who has won various gallantry awards in the service of the people. His untimely demise has caused a vacuum in police fraternity which will be difficult to fill, Patton said.
The minister also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to give them strength to bear the loss. He further assured all possible help to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, the Home Minister has once again appreciated Dimapur Police, particularly the Special Operation Team (SOT), for arresting the gunman involved in the killing of proprietor and manager of Hotel Raj Villa, Santosh Chettri. Chettri was shot dead in broad daylight at Purana Bazar in Dimapur on June 12. The police SOT has acted promptly and has done a commendable job again, Patton said in a release today.
