DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 19: Special Olympics Nagaland and Special Olympics Bharat will be conducting Games and Sports Competition for differently-abled persons of Nagaland on October 22 at Indoor Stadium in Zunheboto.
The organisers have informed that the travelling expenses for participants from villages or distant places will be reimbursed by the department of Social Welfare.
Competitions will include Athletics (Races, throw & Jumps), Bocce, Soft Ball throw, Badminton and Football. There are no age limits, according to the organizers. The participants with teachers/ parents/ escorts have been requested to reach the venue latest by 8 am with photocopies of disability certificate and one passport-sized photo each. They have been requested to carry drinking water.
T-Shirts, medals and certificates would be awarded for all differently-abled persons, the organisers informed in a press release.
Special Olympics Nagaland (SON) is a charity organisation committed to the development of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) through the medium of Sports & Games competitions. Started in the year 2009, SON has covered all 11 districts of Nagaland and has participated in several sports programs all over the country.
