Dimapur, April 25 (EMN): The government of Nagaland has allowed reopening of all shops—including neighbourhood shops, standalone shops, shops in residential complexes—with the rider that they should operate with 50% strength of workers and practice social distancing.
However, shops in multi-brand and single brand malls, urban areas, and in marketing complexes will remain closed.
Further, shops in crowded areas, which offer no scope for social distancing—like Hongkong Market and New Market in Dimapur; BOC market in Kohima etc.— will remain closed, except those dealing with food items and other essential commodities.
Salons, dine-in restaurants, eateries and departmental stores will remain closed.
The respective deputy commissioners of each district will be further issuing orders and directions with regard to the opening of the shops in their districts.
The proprietors of shops and establishments which are allowed to open have been ordered to make arrangements for keeping hand sanitisers or provide facilities for hand washing with soap and water for the public as well as for their own staff.
The proprietors of the shops and establishments have also been directed to get the door handles, surfaces and other objects which are frequently touched by people regularly cleaned and disinfected.
