The NNC/FGN under the leadership of Brig.(Retd.) S.Singnya, Kedahge (president) has expressed confidence in non-violence and peaceful means through which a solution to Indo-Naga political problem can be brought about. “It is worth remembering that non-violence was accepted and upheld by our forefathers who laid the foundation of our noble cause for freedom.”
A statement issued by its FGN Ministry of Rali Wali Affairs said, “armed with a firm belief in the principles of non-violence, our forefather’s always explored opportunities to dialogue and negotiate with the Government of India. However, in the process of this movement, many Naga people fell victims to aggressive policies and thousands of precious lives were lost in the hands of the oppressors.”
“Let us not forget the terrifying events and consequences that followed when the 1964 Ceasefire was unilaterally abrogated in 1972 by the Government of India.
Nagas are at a time when we are not in a position where we can afford to simply act without thinking. It should be emphasized again that non-violence is the only way Nagas can achieve our common goal.”
