DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 14
Survival Nagaland (SN) while vehemently condemning the “random act” of the security forces in raiding a place of one of its active members on the pretext of suspicion in the wee hours of November 12, has demanded from the security forces to clarify the context of the raid and also to arrest the insider for the false information resulted in maligning the image of one of its active member.
“The affected SN member is a law abiding citizen and therefore SN termed the action of SF as highly objectionable and unjustified act towards an innocent Naga,” said a statement SN while adding, “It is very clear that SF had acted immature by taking the account of fabricated information of an informer against its member without analyzing the nature of information and source.”
It then asked, “As responsible law enforcer, how far was the information authenticated prior to action?” The SN then said it will have every right to insist that security forces are tying up with anti-socials should they continue to harass social activists or any SN member in same scale. “A decade ago, we lived in the age of science but the IT age has taken the reigns from the former. Should the means of communication between security forces and its informer in the form of text, audio, video, image, whatsapp, email etc found to be source of illegal information, IT Act 2002 & IT Amendment Act 2008 section 66A (a,b,c) shall stand and applicable,” it pointed out. The statement then said that SN is a social movement against the tremendous influx of unabated illegal immigrants in the state of Nagaland in particular and India in general. It aims to promote dignity of labour and work culture amongst the young people and most importantly, the stand of SN is to help Government to safeguard the nation from dangerous aggression and occupation from another nation. SN is not against any religion, race, community or nationality, it clarified.
The statement further clarified that SN is non-political. “Hence, SF raiding the residence of pressure group is a thing of highest shame and blessed ignorance,” it termed.
SN then reminded the “so called Friends of the Hill people” that it is a movement to safeguard the indigenous people and land from illegal occupation of foreign nationals. SN said it “stands tall on the integral part of the Indian territory” and its people, diverse culture, rich tradition and socio- economic against the suffocating incursion of illegal immigrants.
“Therefore it is reminded that SFs should understand that they are not the only one guarding Indian soil. SFs are paid soldiers but SN members are armless volunteers. Instead of respecting each other, it is so unfortunate that the action of SF has drastically reduced the stature of SN movement as terrorist group,” the statement added.
