Smokie arrives to rock Kohima

Principal Correspondent KOHIMA, DECEMBER 2 WORLD famous English rock band Smokie has arrived Nagaland Tuesday evening to rock the State Wednesday evening at Hockey Ground in Indira Gandhi Stadium. The event is being organized by Nagaland Outdoors Club and Sky Entertainment. Addressing a press conference at de Oriental Hotel here, the members of the band said they would be performing around 22 songs out of which six are new while remaining are all-time favourites. “We are excited to be in this part of the world to perform before our fans and we are looking forward to perform tomorrow,” Mike Craft said. “We will make the show little different,” Steve Pinnell said. “It’s a new and different experience, and we want to thank you for the invitation and do come and enjoy the music tomorrow,” Mike said. The band members also were appreciative of the kind of reception given to them. This is their second visit to the country. They last visited India eight years back. Smokie will also rock Shillong on December 5. Sources said that all the tickets for the Pine City have been sold out two days ago. The sources also said that large number of people from Guwahati have booked for the Smokie concert in Shillong. Shillong is known as the rock music city of the Northeast India.
