- DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Power Department has
announced the immediate rollout of smart prepaid meterinstallations in all
government buildings across the state, in line with central government
directives and recent administrative decisions.
- According to an official notification, the initiative
follows the Ministry of Power’s August 2021 notification and a subsequent
letter dated May 19, 2025.
- The move also adheres to directions issued during
the meeting of administrative heads and heads of departments held on May 15,
2025, it stated.
- The Power Department has stated that the mandatory
installation of smart prepaid meters in all government establishments will
commence with immediate effect. All departments and offices housed in
government buildings have been asked to extend full cooperation to ensure the
successful implementation of the programme.
