While the government school administration in the state continues to dance between managerial controversies and questions of poor performance, at least there is one school in the state that can now boast of keeping updated with indispensible technological trends. The government higher secondary school of Bhandari has become the first government institution to set up a website.
Parliamentary Secretary for Labor & Employment Mmhonlumo Kikon on Friday launched Nagaland state’s first website among government schools (www.ghssbdi.in) in his official chamber in New Secretariat Complex in Kohima town.
Kikon congratulated the principal and staffers of government higher secondary school of Bhandari for their becoming the first government school from Nagaland with a website of its own. The politician stated that the developments being carried out at the school would benefit the students, parents as well as the people of the constituency.
Kikon also urged other government schools in the state to undertake innovative educational activities ‘so that the quality of education imparted in government schools would show marked improvement’.
The president of Nagaland Government Higher Secondary School Employees’ Association, Kelhikha, who also attended the program, congratulated the government higher secondary school for being a model school in many aspects. He also expressed gratitude to the principal for being ‘an inspiration to other principals’.
The principal of the school, Nellayappan, expressed his gratitude to the parliamentary secretary for the encouragement and support he had been extending for the welfare of the school.
Principals of government higher schools in Kohima district and Medzipema, and officials of the Employment & Craftsman Training department, among others, also attended the program.
